BMEcat is a standard exchange format (XML) developed and created by BME (German Federal Association for Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics). Its main purpose is to facilitate the exchange of product data between manufacturers, distributors and component users. For instance, BMEcat manages such data as article code, short and long description, packaging, EAN, eCl@ss code, etc. in several languages.
